CASTLE Hill singer Emma Mylott wowed the judges at the McDonald's Sydney Eisteddfod and took home the gold medal in the country section of the competition.
Emma, 15, competed agains 52 singers in her category, ranging from eight to 25 years in age.
She said the other competitors were ``great'' and said she was ``so surprised'' when the judges called her name.
``I have performed lots of times, but this was the stiffest competition,'' she said.
Her singing teacher, Sharon Muscat, said she was proud of Emma's efforts, and said: ``She is so professional and always ready to put herself out there and that is real star quality.''
