THE Golden Ridge Farm in Dural is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a free sausage sizzle for visitors on weekdays. The educational farm gives children the opportunity to see, touch and feed some 400 animals like ducks, turkeys, deer, horses and alpacas in their natural environment. These July school holidays at the Powerhouse Museum in Castle Hill children of all ages will enjoy holiday shows, The Emperor's New Beat Box and Oh Rats!, presented by the Sydney Puppet Theatre and, to mark NAIDOC Week, Wuruniri show, with indigenous performer Matthew Doyle. Highlights of the program include mini-workshops for young scientists, budding robot engineers and shadow puppeteers and their popular make-and-do activities. The Rouse Hill Town Centre is celebrating winter by creating a wonderland complete with an ice-skating rink and snow machine to bring some joy to the cold winter days.
