FOUR Hills girls with a shared love of singing are taking musical steps forward on a national level.
The band, known as Victoria Avenue, were the 2009 Orange Blossom Talent Quest winners and have successfully made it into the first round of Channel Seven's 2010 Australia's Got Talent series.
Peta Ingleton, 16, Holly Moore, 17, Tiara Maceri, 16, and Carley Austin, 16, have been performing together for about three years.
Peta, of West Pennant Hills, said the group met at singing school a few years ago.
``After we won the Orange Blossom Festival I felt so motivated and I'm sure it's the same for the group,'' she said.
``It propelled us to work harder and we started to improve.''
Tiara, of Castle Hill, said the girls were good friends.
She said the name Victoria Avenue came about after a dinner one night.
``We were having a brainstorming session trying to think of something which worked well,'' Tiara said.
``We realised we sing on Victoria Avenue and thought, why not use that as a name.
``We all really liked it as it suited us and matched the style we wanted to do.''
Tiara said their music range was diverse.
``We don't limit ourselves to a particular style we do rock, but can be very contemporary too,'' she said.
In February the group were among 500 contestants at the Sydney auditions of the popular TV show Australia's Got Talent.
The girls then went to the Lyric Theatre at Star City on March 7 to perform in front of a crowd of 1500 and the judges.
