THE Jin Yang Asian Cuisine restaurant has opened at Castle Hill RSL Club to resounding success.
Managing director Michael Lau said the staff were ``overwhelmed'' when 100 diners arrived on the opening day, particularly because the restaurant had not been advertised.
The modern Asian yum cha and a la carte restaurant was built to seat 200 inside and 80 people on the outdoor terrace.
``It's a new dining experience for the Hills district,'' Mr Lau said.
``Our goal is to provide dinner service that is fit for first class.
``There's no other unique restaurant in a premier class like this in the area.''
Chairman Ricky Char said the word ``Jin'' meant something that was lavish, a banquet, glamorous or colourful and ``Yan'' means a celebration or a happy occasion.
``From ultimate dining to yum cha to lavish banquets in private dining rooms, Jin Yan offers something for everyone,'' he said.
Club president Warren Glenny said the restaurant was ``a long time coming'' and was included in the club's masterplan 10 years ago.
It will be open seven days a week, with yum cha for lunch and a la carte for dinner.
