A chance to help children

21 Sep, 2010 12:00 AM
IMAGINE yourself enjoying high tea in a private Kenthurst estate, basking in the sun on a beautiful spring day.

Be part of Hear The Children Early Intervention Centre's Garden Tea Party.

Buoyed by the success of their recent Spring Fashion Brunch, the mothers and Clive Lassau from Glenhaven Rotary Club have organised an event for Sunday, October 17.

Janiene Pollock, the franchisee of Fernwood at Parramatta and Castle Hill, was one of the first sponsors who offered to help.

"I attended the Spring Fashion Brunch and as soon as I got there I was impressed by how professional it was and what a great organisation the mothers have created," Mrs Pollock said.

"We were so happy to get involved and do anything we can to support them.

"They're doing a great job to help 18 children and the more money they raise, the more children they can assist."

Mrs Pollock has donated a a one-year gym membership, valued at $1092, for the auction.

She will also donate a Fernwood magazine and a guest pass, valued at $20, for every gift bag and a three-month membership for the raffle.

Mrs Pollock will waive the joining fee and take 10 per cent off the annual membership fee for the mothers and volunteers at Hear The Children.

Guests at the tea party will be treated to finger food, hors d'oeuvres and cupcakes, as well as a piccolo of Rosemount O and non-alcoholic refreshments.

There will also be a lucky door prize, an auction and gift bags. Details: 12.30pm, October 17, $30, www.hearthechildren.org.au or 0414 685 669.
