Award goes to town centre

20 Jul, 2010 01:00 AM
ROUSE Hill Town Centre has received the Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence.

The centre, owned by the GPT Group, was among five developments to receive the award, which recognises the full development process of a project, not just its architecture or design.

Criteria for the awards include leadership, contribution to the community, innovations, public/private partnership, environmental protection and enhancement, response to societal needs, and financial viability.

The winners were announced during the Real Estate Investment World Asia 2010 conference in Singapore last month.

The centre was recognised as an ecologically-conscious regional shopping centre, which combined ``great architecture, fantastic retail choices, active public spaces and sustainable design to deliver an authentic and contemporary Australian town centre''.
