Connect with people who'll do the job

08 Nov, 2011 12:00 AM
PEOPLE with a disability are often wrongly labelled and segregated in society as either "unfortunate" or "not having much to contribute", so giving a person with a disability a job can be looked upon as a social investment.

But businesses large and small don't become successful by offering charity.

They need to make sensible business decisions and that's where choosing the right staff to support their business is vitally important. An employer wants someone who can do the job and add value to their business.

Working with Nova Employment makes sound business sense. Nova screens candidates to ensure their skills and abilities match their career aspirations.

"Our job-seekers want to work, and when given an opportunity go on to become valuable members of the team," Bernie Davey, from Nova Employment said.

"So an employer knows that when they take on a Nova candidate they are getting someone who has the ability and passion to do the job. More than 6000 businesses have made the decision to work with us.

"We have many testimonials from local employers who have successfully employed people with a disability and have reaped the reward of having an employee who is skilled, reliable and dedicated.

"That's why we have businesses approaching us for their second and third employee. "So let's work together to give a person with a disability a fair go and make a sensible business decision at the same time."
