IT'S on again the annual Tour de Hills Bicycle Classic and it looks as though it's going to be a big success again.
The service projects director of the Rotary Club of Castle Hill, Mike Blair, organised this charity event, which is now in its 15th year.
It will be held on Sunday, March7.
Mr Blair said the Tour de Hills attracted riders of all abilities and that anyone could register to compete.
``You don't have to be brilliant at riding,'' he said.
Mr Blair said there were different routes for all levels.
There need be no worries for entrants who think they can't finish the course, because a bus will pick them up if they need help. The bus will also bring them back.
Serious riders looking for a challenge can tackle the 100-kilometre, 70-kilometre or 35-kilometre routes.
There is also a 20-kilometre route for families and less experienced riders who just want a pleasant ride through The Hills.
Racing starts at 7am.
All courses start and finish at the Dural Country Club.
Some of the money raised will go to the Rotary Foundation, which raises money for the World Health Organisation's PolioPlus program dedicated to eradicating polio.
Today, thanks to Rotary's $US500million commitment over the years and its leadership in mobilising volunteers, there are only a few countries that are still affected by the disease.
``In addition to raising money for this program, money from the event will also go to the Rural Fire Service local fire brigades and also Police Legacy,'' Mr Blair said.
``We feel we're helping out people who really need help and it's nice to help.
``This year we don't have a naming rights sponsor, so we're really relying on the riders to give us plenty of support.''
Mr Blair said Rotary was hoping to raise more than $20,000.
He also said the Castle Hills Rotary Club was looking for a new naming rights sponsor.
