SOME of Hollywood's best master sculptors have been working away at the New Rouse Hill, to create some cutting-edge pieces for the new all-abilities playground.
For 15 years, Queensland trio Marty Hodgson, Tony Hourigan and Shane Lewis-Millar, have built moulds and sculptures for a number of movie and television sets including The Chronicles of Narnia, Hercules, Ghost Rider and television miniseries The Pacific.
Now, the artists have been brought into town by the New Rouse Hill development partners, Lend Lease and GPT Group, to create a larger-than-life replica of a crocodile and a snake in a playground designed to offer a variety of equipment for children.
Mr Hodgson said the sculptures were completely different to what people would normally see in a community playground.
``We were asked to create something quite tactile and fun for kids to play on,'' Mr Hodgson said. ``These will definitely be great to look at and something I would love to play on as well.''
