IT WAS the theatrical nature of weddings that drew Ursula Lhotka to the idea of becoming a celebrant.
Mrs Lhotka, who lives in Kellyville, prides herself on creating ceremonies that are intimate and unique.
She said she personalised them to suit the hopes and dreams of each couple.
``With the help of my broad collection of ideas, poetry, and poetry I have written myself, readings, music and rituals, I am able to hand-craft a ceremony that is unique, personal and intimate,'' she said.
``I am passionate about what I do, whether it's a wedding, a baby naming or the renewal of a couple's vows.
``Ceremonies can include a sand ceremony, hand-washing ceremony, wine ceremony, unity candle, butterfly release and invoking ceremony.
``I am committed to creating ceremonies so they have their own special magic.
``I have a collection of equipment that can be used on the day, including a unity lantern which can also be used for butterfly release, a hand-washing font, ceremonial stones, wine goblets and a carafe, coloured sand and a decorated table and chairs.''
Mrs Lhotka said she also enjoyed conducting ceremonies that made the most of Sydney's beautiful natural features.
``I recently had the pleasure of conducting a wedding ceremony, which included the invoking ceremony, for Christine Balodis and Jakub Zverina at the beautiful Royal National Park in the Sutherland Shire,'' she said.
``This was a glorious beach wedding for a lovely couple, celebrated on the date and at the place they first met.
``They grew up in Schofields and have been together since their school days.''
