Kellyville fisherman killed after falling off rock ledge

14 Sep, 2010 10:49 AM
A Kellyville man has died after falling five metres from a rock ledge at Maroubra.

Police said the 43-year-old and a friend parked their car in Undine Street at 3.40pm yesterday.

The man’s friend walked down the steep five metre rock ledge at the northern end of Marine Parade and started walking onto the rock flat to start fishing when he heard a loud thud.

The man looked behind to see his friend lying at the bottom of the rock ledge.

Emergency services were called but could not revive the man.

Police are treating the man's death as an accident.

It has been four months since five members of the Poon family (from Carlingford) and Tin family (from North Rocks) died after being swept off rocks at Flat Rock, on the NSW central coast.
