SINCE age4 all that Josh Calcagno, of Castle Hill, has wanted to do is to play footy.
Josh, now 17 and in year 12 at Kellyville High School, is still playing footy and is going from strength to strength and could even end up playing for Australia one day.
``That's definitely my ultimate goal for next year to try to make the Australian All-Schools team so I can play international footy,'' he said.
Josh was recently selected for the Combined High School rugby union team in which he is playing a series of games against other teams comprising schools within the Sydney area.
He is captain of the Firsts team.
``Making the team was awesome but to be captain was a complete surprise,'' he said.
``I'm the youngest player in the team and I definitely thought the older guys would get it, so I'm so happy to be captain.
``We've been going well in the comp and I've been playing well but I've had an ankle injury so I'm hoping that will be better soon.''
The games are trials for the NSW All-Schools team, so they're all crucial.
``That's the next level so I really want to make that so I can keep on going and make that Australian team.''
He's been playing with North Rocks Rugby Union Club since his first game at age4 and is playing in his last year with the club this season.
Josh is also playing for the under20s Eastwood Colts.
``Football has always been with me and it always will be,'' he said. ``I love it and it's my life.''
