Galston aquathon

Galston Aquatic Centre is holding an aquathon on Saturday, September 24, to raise much-needed funds for the Autistic Association of NSW.

The event is being held at the pool from 1pm to 4pm, with a participation fee of $10 per person.

Event co-ordinator Jenny Martin says it was all about having fun and raising money for a worthwhile cause.

"We'll be providing afternoon tea and aquarobics classes through the afternoon, with multiple instructors to help keep everyone swimming."

Regular lap swimming will be closed for the afternoon to make way for the event.

Jogging club's 40th

The Hills District Joggers Club is celebrating its 40th birthday with a seafood buffet dinner next month at Castle Hill Bowling Club. The group which claims to have run more than a million kilometres in The Hills, will talk about the club's history since separating from another Parramatta-based joggers club in 1971. The event starts at 6.30pm with a club memorabilia activity to follow. Guests can bring their old memorabilia and a prize will be given for the most unique item.

Details: Dennis, 9614 3023.
