THE Hills Shire Library Service took out an award at last week's Australian Library and Information Association Access 2010 Conference and Exhibition.
Every two years, the association recognises new, exciting and inspiring programs in public libraries across the country.
The title "Library Star" is given to libraries that have developed outstanding programs and activities in various categories - this year was children and early literacy, digital citizenship, social inclusion and health and ageing.
The Hills library service won the Health and Ageing category for its Festival of Active Living.
