Businesses with the most votes will automatically become finalists and will be notified soon.

While voting popularity determines the finalists, it does not factor in determining which of those businesses will ultimately be awarded most outstanding local business.

Finalists will be judged independently using a range of customer focused criteria.

The judges will visit businesses anonymously and assess each finalist on fundamental business principles related to providing the best customer service, value for money, business appearance and merchandising.

Support sponsor, Castle Hill RSL, which will host the awards night on May 11, is the Hills' premier entertainment and hospitality venue.

President and chairman Warren Glenny said the RSL was proud to be supporting the awards.

"Local businesses are an integral part of the Hills community and this night recognises their achievement," he said.
