PERSONAL trainers who use parks and reserves for boot camps will be fined if they do not pay hire fees to The Hills Shire Council.
The council had considered following Auburn Council's decision to limit personal trainers to certain fields or ban them completely, after reports that some were using parks without permission or paying hire fees.
Instead, the council voted to increase their compliance patrols and will accept bookings from trainers accredited with Fitness Australia only.
The council allowed one trainer per park, in order not to affect general community use. But it acknowledged this would become more difficult to enforce as demand increased from trainers for more spaces.
The council charges trainers $160 for two participants for 15 weeks.
It charges $420 to train between three and 12 people for 12 weeks and $740 to train between 11 and 18 people for eight weeks.
Bookings are accepted on the condition trainers have public liability insurance to $10million and don't interfere with sport groups.
