The Hills Shire Council has invited primary school pupils to participate in a competition to win a day in the life of the mayor.
As part of Local Government Week 2010, children from kindergarten to year 2 have been encouraged to draw an A4-sized picture with the theme, What I love about living in the Hills Shire.
Pupils from years 3 to 6 can enter online and write 200 words about What I love about living in the Hills Shire.
All primary schools have been sent information packs and all entries will be displayed in an exhibition at the council.
``You will get a full behind-the-scenes tour of the council building, including the rare chance to sit in the mayor's chair in the council chambers and help me make some important community decisions in my office,'' Mayor Peter Dimbrowsky said.
Entries close 5pm, July 16. The winning entry will be named on August 7.
There are runners-up prizes and every child who enters will be in the draw to win a Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP).
