ROUSE Hill Renegades Rugby Union club are licking their wounds after a heavy 50-5 defeat by third-placed St George in division five's Jeffrey Cup.
A severely under-manned Rouse Hill squad entered the last round of the Jeffrey Cup with only seven members of their usual starting 15.
The depleted Renegades team showed some weary legs early in the first half and were punished, with St George running in two easy tries in the first 10 minutes.
A third try followed shortly after as the Renegades were restricted with only little ball possession.
St George were dominating the game to the extent they had already wrapped up the bonus point try after only 25 minutes.
The half time interval couldn't come soon enough for the Renegades as they were given a much-needed chance to catch their breath.
Signs were looking promising in the second stanza for the Renegades with several line breaks made.
But the momentum of the game shifted again, and St George ran in another four tries for their 50-5 victory.
Despite the loss, the Renegades still finish second on the ladder.
They play Sydney Harlequins in the major semi-final match at C.A. Redmond Oval, Brighton-Le-Sands on Saturday.
