Kearney's gone

A press conference at 10.30am this morning will confirm Stephen Kearney has been sacked as Parramatta Eels head coach.

In his two year tenure Kearney has only managed nine wins from 41 games.

Parramatta only narrowly avoided the wooden spoon last season.

They had to beat Gold Coast in the final round to do that.

The Eels finished with six wins, one draw and 17 losses.

After 19 rounds of this season they are last, with just three wins and 14 losses.

Assistant coach Brad Arthur is likely to to coach the side for the rest of the year as the hunt for a replacement starts.

Ricky Stuart and Jason Taylor are possible candidates.
