Emergency services are at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the M7, at Kings Park and traffic is at a stand still in surrounding areas.
A mini-van and several cars collided on the motorway near Kings Park about 3.30pm today.
Quakers Hill and Holroyd police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Polair responded to the incident, along with NSW Ambulance Paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW personnel.
A rescue helicopter is also on scene.
It’s understood a number of people have been injured in the crash.
All outbound lanes have been shutdown to traffic at Old Windsor Road.
Meanwhile, one of two citybound lanes has been closed to allow motorists caught behind the incident to be turned around.
Inquiries into the cause of the incident will be conducted by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
The M7 is expected to be closed for several hours and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use other routes.
